Chicibongi is the solo creative project of Amber Rossouw, a South African artist specializing in illustration and printmaking, specifically lino & block printing. This endeavor is all about creative expression & exploration through the lens of sustainability and circular consumption.

Chicibongi is a tribute to the earth & to art, merging the worlds of creative expression with sustainable consumption. All products sold here are either made using secondhand materials (from the clothes or paper I print on to the inks and tools I use for my craft) or produced in small batches using the most sustainable options available to me.

 

Upcycling & reusing are the driving forces of Chicibongi and also the main inspiration for the journey ahead. I am constantly looking at and learning new ways to improve and incorporate more and more sustainable practices into this project. Because at the end of the day, enjoying art & fashion in a way that doesn't negatively impact the planet or its inhabitants, is a future I think we all would like to live in.
